Intro
🏄♂️ Welcome to Issue #1 of Manly Locals
Hey Manly (and all our Northern Beaches neighbours!) 👋
First off — thanks for jumping on board and subscribing to Manly Locals! I started this newsletter because I wanted a quick, easy way for locals to keep up with everything happening around here — without having to scroll through all the noise.
Each week, you’ll get a 5-minute rundown of what’s on — 20+ local events, new cafés and restaurant finds, and a sprinkle of feel-good Northern Beaches news.
Since this is the first issue, we’re keeping it short and sweet. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be adding new sections, features, and maybe even sending Manly Locals twice a week.
This weekend, it’s Halloween — which means the Northern Beaches will be buzzing with haunted houses, spooky plays, and plenty of fun for both the young and the young at heart.
And with the weather looking good, it’s the perfect excuse to get outside — whether you’re chasing scares or just soaking up that sweet spring air.

New Look Coming for Manly Surf Club
Big news for Manly Surf Club! Council’s lodged plans to replace the old Manly Life Saving Club with a brand-new, purpose-built facility — designed to better serve the 3.5 million people who hit our beach every year.
After more than two years of consultation and design, Mayor Sue Heins says the upgrade will give lifesavers, nippers, and local swimmers a space that truly fits the heart of Manly.
